Arturo González has over six years of experience in the education sector, specializing in instructional design for social change. He is currently an Instructional Design Consultant at ForteOrigen Learning. Arturo applies human-centered design to analyze problems in the community, design learning solutions, develop a program, and train those who will implement the program. He has also developed thirteen other projects that have a combined audience exceeding 45,000 participants.
In 2013, Arturo co-founded the community development program called LiberArte in Monterrey, Mexico. Born of a wordplay between freedom and art, LiberArte’s creative expression and healing through art program reached over 550 children and young adolescents in almost three years of work. Arturo served as an Atlas Corps Fellow in Class 15 at Kids’ Food Basket in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Arturo was elected by his peers to serve as Chair of the Atlas Corps Fellow Executive Committee and was later elected to the Atlas Corps Alumni Council. As Projects Manager at Kids’ Food Basket, Arturo designed education projects to empower youth in civic engagement, social justice, and inclusion.
During his Fellowship, Arturo was awarded the “2015 Young Professional of the Year” award by the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He was also selected to participate as one of fifteen nonprofit leaders in the American Express – Aspen Institute Academy 2.0: A Fellowship for Emerging Nonprofit Leaders. Arturo earned his Master of Arts in International Relations from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, where he was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation for Academic Excellence. He received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he graduated top of his class.
