For the past 6 months, I have been living in Washington DC and I have met a bunch of people I’ve never met before. I’ve interacted with so many different kinds of people, who have had different experiences and have had different backgrounds. We do not only share apartments but we do share our lives. We share our stories, laughter, tears, jokes, shopping, cleaning and cooking. I am inspired by each and every one; you people are teaching me resilience, hard work, commitment and having fun amidst all of the stress. We always compare how things are done in our own countries and we share our opinions and how we do things in our respective cultures.  I know that getting sick can be one of the most difficult things you can face while you are away from home but the good thing is that you will find people who take care of you. Even though we all live in America, each of us lives the life differently. It’s an opportunity for me to learn to be more open and accepting of others. To be a Global Social change leader it  is vital  to know and understand different cultures, not just by observing, but also by immersing ourselves in the culture and taking a part by playing, and learning in that culture. I truly feel that by coming to US for this fellowship, I have started learning the role of a Global change leader. Our paths may change as life goes along but the bond we share will remain strong!!
