May 17th is a annually significant date for LGBTQI community worldwide as it marks the day 28 years ago when homosexuality was excluded from the list of illnesses. Unfortunately as of today discrimination of LGBTQI communities remains and everyday reality for too many people in too many countries. Individuals who face discrimination based on sexual orientation and or gender identity live under oppressive law and everyday discrimination and oppression from the society: are forced to hide and protect their identity on the daily basis.  Fight for equality is a long and tiring one –  yet is essential, as human rights are universal and should not be denied on the premises of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
