Ons has more than four years of experience in the nonprofit sector, earned a Master’s degree in English and International Relations, and a Bachelor’s degree in the English Language, Literature, and Civilization given by honors from the High Institute of Human Sciences of Tunis. While working as a Space Manager of Synergy, Ons was in charge of connecting a global community of youth, business leaders and decisions makers with the aim of implementing innovative impact strategic projects in the context of the democratic transition and social change. In partnership with Mercy Corps Tunisia and the International Institute of Debate, Ons planned leadership programs and hosted capacity building workshops and debate training sessions delivered to a network of students and recent graduates. Previously, Ons worked as the regional coordinator of Unleash Tunisia Venture Bus (UTVB) under the U.S. Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) funded entrepreneurship programs to spread startup mentality and to promote social business all across Tunisia. Ons has also volunteered extensively in various International Organizations, first in the world’s largest youth-led nonprofit AIESEC both in Tunisia and in Romania where she assisted leadership and entrepreneurship exchange programs, and as a student activism coordinator with Amnesty International with the aim of addressing the social issues among women. Ons was also selected to take part of social innovation programs such as Social Innovators for Tunisia, which is a collaboration between the U.S. Embassy in Tunis and EL Space, and Open Startup Tunisia in partnership with Columbia Engineering and Business School. Through these experiences, she developed strong project coordination and implementation skills, public speaking, leadership, reporting, event planning, social innovation, communication and marketing. Ons is fluent in English, Arabic, French and German and has a strong passion for youth employment, social change and leadership development.
Host Organization: Atlas Corps
Role at Host Organization: Ons will act as the Training Manager responsible for managing the Atlas Corps Global Leadership Lab (GLL), a training program for rising global nonprofit leaders participating in the Atlas Corps Fellowship. This includes logistical arrangements, coordination of staff and speakers, and ensuring an excellent experience for staff, speakers, and Fellow-participants.
