Covid is slowly becoming the new normal, and it’s time for us to be our biggest motivator. We all have our share of self-help books that help us navigate through difficult and uncertain circumstances. Sharing below my five favourite books that will make you rethink and motivate you to change your life’s strategy.
1. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up’ by Marie Kondo
Amazon Review: “The book that sparked a revolution and inspired the hit Netflix series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo: the original guide to decluttering your home once and for all.”
2. ‘Presence’ by Amy Cuddy
“Presence feels at once concrete and inspiring, simple but ambitious — above all, truly powerful.”-New York Times Book Review
3. ‘Make Your Bed’ by Admiral William H. McRaven
“Full of captivating personal anecdotes from inside the national security vault…McRaven’s lessons, like his commencement speech, extend far beyond his bed-making. He devotes the 10-chapter book to lessons about moving beyond failure, standing up to bullies and giving others hope.”―Washington Post
4. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
“An elegantly simple story about a writer getting a second chance to discover life through the death of a friend.” —Tampa Tribune
5. The last lecture by Randy Pausch
Amazon Review: This is an incredibly good book which helped me a lot during the dark times of my life. A must read for everyone who is currently lacking a purpose of self.
Amongst the five books, my favourite is Tuesdays with Morrie. It is a memoir] by American author Mitch Albom about a series of visits Albom made to his former sociology professor Morrie Schwartz, as Schwartz gradually dies of ALS. The book empowers you to live life better and value the time you have.
